Lemon Ginger Infused Water

Ingredients

  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced (preferably organic)
  • 2 inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and thinly sliced or grated
  • 8 cups cold filtered water
  • 4 fresh mint leaves (optional)
  • 4 cucumber slices (optional)
  • 1 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 pinch of turmeric (optional)

Steps

  • 1 Prepare the lemon: Wash 1 lemon, thinly sliced (preferably organic) thoroughly, especially if not organic. Slice into thin rounds and remove any seeds.
  • 2 Prepare the ginger: Peel 2 inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and thinly sliced or grated using a spoon or vegetable peeler, then slice thinly for a mild flavor or grate for a stronger, spicier kick.
  • 3 Combine and infuse: In a large pitcher (glass works best), combine the lemon and ginger. Pour in 8 cups cold filtered water and stir gently. Cover and refrigerate for at least 60 minutes 60:00
